CrossFit is a constantly varied fitness program that includes: 

  • Weightlifting

  • Gymnastics

  • Powerlifting

  • Cardiovascular fitness 

It prepares you for the unknown as no day is the same and each workout can be modified to help each athlete achieve his or her goals. You will find that through CrossFit you should notice a significant improvement in your: 

  • Agility 

  • Speed 

  • Coordination 

  • Strength 

  • Endurance 

  • Power 

  • Flexibility 

  • Accuracy


CrossFit isn't just about the training. CrossFit, like any health and fitness journey, is a combination of diet and exercise which is key to long term health. What is truly epic about CrossFit is the community that it creates.


Here at FFET we have an incredible bunch of members who encourage and motivate each other as they work towards their goals as well as coaches who hold you accountable and really care. 

Functional Fit


Our Functional Fitness Classes are coached side-by-side with our CrossFit Classes so they too are 60 minutes long.

These classes encompass low skilled barbell movements, building strength to move your body and high intensity interval training.

These classes are great for people who want to show up to the gym and get a good workout in but are not too worried about doing the high skilled stuff like Olympic lifting or gymnastics. 

Functional Fit classes are also great for people who want to get into CrossFit but they either don't think they are ready or they don't know where to start. It is a really good building block for you.

The class all warms up together and then they will split off into ‘CrossFit’ or ‘Functional Fit’ - the main difference being that Functional Fit is a little bit less technical! The purpose of our Functional Fit classes is to really build base movement and confidence in your fitness ability.

The benefit of this program is it means you have a smaller learning curve when you are first starting out with your training or when you are coming back to CrossFit/training after having a break. You can build at your own pace safely and then you can transition to the more technical stuff when you feel ready.



Your goal may be to perform as an athlete in your chosen sport, whether that be CrossFit, Golf or Tennis. Alternatively your function may be to look good, feel great & move well. We line up our system to meet up with your function.

Build class is going to give you access to a whole new array of exercise and movements that's going to allow you to slow down, connect with your body & connect your brain to your muscles and really learn what proper movement is supposed to look like.


There are three key steps to succeed with BUILD Classes:

  1. Movement quality is more important than the amount of load (weight) or intensity (work) applied

  2. Be present and aware. You must follow the tempo, adhere to the full range of movement and repetitions and sets, and observe the proper amount of rest. It all has purpose.

  3. The lifestyle of anyone participating in Functional Bodybuilding must be balanced. Everything that happens outside the gym is vitally important to the success of the program.

BUILD Classes can be done as a stand-alone programme or it can complement CrossFit / Functional Fit or Cardio Club Classes. This class is based on Functional Bodybuilding Principles. 


Cardio Club


Our Cardio Club classes are a 40 minute low impact training session designed to improve your aerobic capacity. 

There are numerous benefits from improving your aerobic capacity such as: 

  • Improved recovery Times within workouts

  • Increased Bloody Flow

  • Burn / Lose Fat

  • Increase your workout stamina 

  • Build mental toughness

Workouts range from short and sharp interval work to long steady state pieces.

We use the 5 levels to decide what intensity you are training at.
For example:

Level 1 - Active Recovery 

Moving at a recovery pace. 

Level 2 - Endurance: Low Intensity

Not too easy, not too hard - just right. You can talk with not a lot of effort

Level 3 - Sub Lactate Threshold: Moderate Intensity

Starting to hurt but you can maintain it. You can talk but it takes a bit of effort. 

Level 4 - VO2 Max: High Intensity

You need to stay focused to maintain this pace but can keep going for extended periods. You can talk but it takes a bit of effort to do so. 

Level 5 - Anaerobic Capacity: Peak Effort

Highest Intensity, all out effort. You need a long time to recover afterwards. No Talking Zone. 

The best thing about these levels are they are all relative. The example of being able to talk during a level lets you know how hard you have to go for a certain piece.

And because they are low impact (meaning they won't put too much strain on your body afterwards) you're able to use them as a good recovery session between CrossFit / Functional Fit & BUILD classes. 

Personal Training


At FFET we offer 'one-on-one' and small group Personal Training.

These intimate session provide a 100% personalised session to help you achieve your goals at an accelerated pace. Personal training options that we offer include:

Skill Sessions

These sessions are tailored to your goals and needs based on the skill you are wishing to develop. 

Commonly clients will want to work on high level gymnastics skills, such as the handstand press-ups, pull-ups or muscle ups, to name a few. Alternatively they look to develop their weightlifting skills further, working predominantly on two olympic lifts, the snatch and clean and jerk.

Having one of our highly skilled and trained coaches keeping a closer eye on you and tailoring a personalised path to achieve your goal means they can make improvements to your technique at a much faster rate than you would by just attending class alone.

Accountability Sessions

The accountability sessions are available if you tend to be less motivated.

Accountability sessions mean that you have a locked in appointment with a coach. The financial commitment will prevent you from skipping sessions helping you build momentum with your fitness. 

As with the skill sessions, these are personalised to your needs.

Terms & Conditions

  • The 'Gym' membership gives you access to the CrossFit area outside of class time and is great for anyone who needs somewhere to get extra work in on top of their class training.

  • For CrossFit East Tamaki Members this is included in your membership.


  • Payments can be made either weekly, fortnightly or monthly.

  • There are no contracts and no joining fees, all we ask is that you adhere to our “GOOD GUY POLICY”.

  • Our policy is that we won't tie you in to any long term contracts, all we ask is you give us 2 weeks notice before you stop your membership, this means you are in 100% control

Our policy is that we won’t tie you into a crazy long term membership contract like other gyms, all we ask for is 2 weeks’ notice before you either need to place your membership On Hold or Cancel your membership - this means you’re 100% in control. ​However, to place your membership On Hold or Cancel your membership, please visit the 'Contact Us' page and follow the on-screen instructions. 


Please note that membership is paid in advance for the week coming, not in arrears.
